What is HippoDocs

HippoDocs is a lightweight authoring and publishing app built to turn scattered notes into organized, shareable content. At its core it provides a Markdown‑friendly editor that lets you write quickly and format cleanly without interrupting your flow. You can enrich entries with photos and videos, rearrange entries and images by drag‑and‑drop, and rely on searchable content to find anything fast. Each project in HippoDocs becomes a portable knowledge set you control. Export a project as a multi‑page PDF with an automatically generated Table of Contents for polished offline distribution, or publish it as a folder of linked HTML files that include a home page, mobile‑friendly navigation (with optional dropdown menus), a built‑in search bar, customizable site icon and footer links, and light‑box photo galleries. You can preview the generated site inside the app before publishing to ensure the layout and content are exactly as you expect. HippoDocs also supports practical workflows for real work: multiple projects let you separate guides, blogs, and FAQs; backup & restore protect your content; and CSV/HTML import helps you migrate existing material. Blog mode with an optional auto date stamp, together with rearrangeable photos and entries, makes it easy to publish timely posts or long‑running knowledge bases without losing structure or polish.
